Aston Martin Reveals New $150,000 Vantage, We Can’t Get Over Its Lemon Popsicle Paint Job

We don’t see Bond driving around in this Aston Martin but that doesn’t take the shine off the all new Vantage in any way. In fact, the Vantage is very refreshing, revealed in this bright lemon zest paint job, perhaps a tad too bright for a luxury vehicle, fatally attractive nonetheless. Check it out:

The Vantage has been a consistent performer since its advent in 2005 and its fresh out the oven 2019 render maintains that spirit and essence, even if in a “lim(e)inal” avatar (purists don’t be disheartened it’s very much available in the conservative steel grey variants). It is the same hand-crafted, two-door, two-seater coupe that promises performance with comfort in an understated, stylish manner.

One of the most striking features of the vehicle will have to be the change in the iconic radiator grill. The grille has been a defining feature of most Aston Martin cars for decades and we noticed that it’s been pushed lower down the nose. If you look closely, the fascia of the car looks like a gaping mouth with Buddha-esque eyes for headlamps, we’ve got to say it’s rather comforting.

Got you to look again, didn’t it!

Under the hood you’ll find a Mercedes made 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 mill pumping 503hp. This gives the Vantage the capability of sprinting from 0-100kmph in about 3.6 seconds. Agreeably, that’s not much when we have alien quick cars like the Tesla Roadster doing that in just 1.9 seconds or even less, but we are reasonable with our expectations from an entry level Aston Martin that’s priced $50,000 less than the Roadster. At $150,000 the luxury whip is still one to appease.

Many say that the Vantage has a deeper lure than the DB11, we don’t disagree with them for the simple reason that the revamp has the car looking like a million bucks on wheels and the DB11, no matter how gorgeous, is so 2016. If the Vantage is going to be seen on the roads in late 2018 and early 2019, it’s got to look new-age and captivating. Well, it surely captured our attention and the lemon zest has grown on us in the last 15 minutes. It’s going to be a heart breaker for sure.

One last thing before we leave you to drool over the car, here’s a not so subtle dig at the Porsche and Jaguar that Aston Martin President and Chief Executive Officer, Andy Palmer, couldn’t help but make, he’s quoting Top Gear, of course, not his words. Still gave us the tickles…
