First things first- you need to prepare a long term sustainable plan that blends in your daily lifestyle. Forget about shortcuts and quick fixes. We are not talking about passing an exam here. We are talking about your body, which you have to keep healthy for longevity. A short term plan will last only for a short period. Therefore, opt for a diet like Low Carb or Zone diet wherein the macros are such that you can follow them easily throughout your life. For such diets, you just need to tweak your eating patterns a little bit and may re-place a few items in your diet. The results will be slower than any of the crash diets, but since you can follow them throughout your life. Moreover, there’s no risk of gaining back the pounds that you will lose. Now let’s talk about mindset. You need to understand that bringing small changes in your lifestyle is going to make you live longer and healthier. It’s not a task to achieve but a journey to enjoy.

Don’t Be Impatient

Initially it may seem a little difficult but if you want to see changes, you will have to leave your comfort zone. A very low calorie diet, sustained for a long time, will screw your metabolic rate. Calorie deficit should ideally be only 500 calories less than your maintenance calories. The process will be slow but at least you won’t gain back the lost kilos.
