Arguably one of the most exciting youngsters in the Indian team, Hardik Pandya swears by living life king size and that exuberance finds expression in his powerful hitting and brisk seam bowling. From providing vital breakthroughs with the ball to going hammer and tongs at the opposition bowlers, Pandya has undoubtedly established himself as a pivotal all-rounder Team India has been waiting for all this while.
Whether he’s on the field or off it, there are no half-measures for the Baroda boy. Known for his hard work and dedication to the game, the 24-year-old is equally committed to the notion of playing hard and partying harder. As much as his exploits on the field, Pandya’s social life has also been a huge hit amongst the Indian cricket fans.
From sporting trendy hairdos to donning stylish outfits, the right-hander has also become a youth icon in the country. He appears to be a great guy to hang out with and his camaraderie with his Team India mates has often been noticed in their outings together.
Even his captain Virat Kohli has rarely minced words about his capabilities on the field. Kohli had also shot a small video with Pandya where he was seen praising the youngster after his all-round display led to their ODI series win against Sri Lanka in September this year.
But, after praising his on-field demeanor, Kohli, now, seems to have expressed his disappointment at Pandya’s conduct inside the Indian dressing room. And, to top it all, Kohli has labelled the Mumbai Indians star as the most irritating cricketer in their dressing room.
“We play just Punjabi music in the dressing room. Most of the players do not carry their iPods. Hardik Pandya has an iPod. It has all English songs. Pandya listens to English songs but he doesn’t know five words of even a single song. He just grooves to the music beats. We all get irritated with his songs,” Kohli told Gaurav Kapur on his show ‘Breakfast With Champions’.
The Indian batting sensation also revealed that Pandya is good at heart, but has little control over his tongue.
“Pandya doesn’t think before speak. Once he wanted to take Ash’s (Ravichandran Ashwin’s) name but he ended up saying ‘Ravikashyap Ashwin kya bowling karta hai yar’. He is very good at heart but he doesn’t have any control over his tongue,” Kohli claimed.
While Kohli was all fun and games about the revelations related to Pandya, the 29-year-old has been a great admirer of the young gun and believes that he can very well become India’s regular No. 4 in near future.
