OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition won’t be “available everywhere”

Over the weekend, OnePlus showcased a new edition of its 5T
flagship smartphone – the OnePlus 5T Star Wars, seen in the video above. Designed
in collaboration with Lucasfilm (owned by Disney), this is an official Star
Wars phone, featuring the franchise’s famous logo on the back, and Star
Wars-themed software.

The OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition will be released in India in mid-December, but what about other countries? Well, we’ve contacted OnePlus to
specifically ask about the smartphone’s availability in the US and Europe.
The company replied with a rather vague statement:

That’s all OnePlus can say for now. Perhaps the company
simply doesn’t know (yet) if it wants to launch the 5T Star Wars Edition in the
US.
Or maybe they don’t have the green light from Disney to do this. In any case,
if you were hoping to buy this special OnePlus 5T outside of India at some
point, chances are that you won’t be able to. Bummer.
