Centre approves revision of kilometre allowance: NFIR

AHMEDABAD: Finance secretary of Government of India (GOI) has approved revision of kilometre allowance for the running staff of Indian Railway.

Vice president of the National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR) and general secretary of the Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh on Tuesday informed that the long pending demand for revision of kilometre allowance has been accepted by GOI.

“The finance secretary has approved revision of kilometre allowance at the rate of Rs 525 per 100 km with effect from July 1, 2017. The file has reached Railway Bhavan today evening,” he said, adding that orders will be issued very soon by the Railway Board.

“NFIR general secretary Dr M Raghvaiah after great struggle has got this approved from union minister of railways Piyush Goyal,” he said, adding that Raghvaiah had also raised the issue before the cabinet secretary of Indian Railway during a meeting which was held at Rail Bhavan on April 13.
