The IPL 2018 auction ended on January 28.
However fans are still having fun at some of the moments and one of them is the fact that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are going for aged players instead of the young guns.
CSK are returning after a gap of two years and had Rs 6.5 crores saved in their purse out of 80 crores.
They were trolled by Twitterati for signing up old horses instead of the young blood.
While former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will lead the side, he has Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, along with the veteran players like Harbhajan Singh, Dwayne Bravo, Shane Watson, Imran Tahir and others as well.
Coming to the fans’ reactions, here’s what they said:

— VIRENDER SEHWAG (@virendr_sehwag) 28 January 2018
Among the many buys, Lungi Ngidi is one of the most effective players CSK managed to buy at the auction. The South African, who ripped India apart in the recently-concluded three-Test series which the hosts won 2-1, too expressed his joy at joining CSK as he tweeted, “Just listened to the #LungiDance song loving it already.”
Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer VB Chandrasekhar, who bought the first CSK team in 2008, has revealed that MS Dhoni – the most iconic Yellow Army player, was not the first choice of team owner N Srinivasan.
“Before the auctions in 2008, Mr N Srinivasan asked me, “Who are you going to pick?” I said Dhoni. He (Srinivasan) asked, “Why not Virender Sehwag?” Chandrasekhar was quoted by Sportskeeda.
“I said Sehwag would not provide me with the kind of inspiration that the crowd will be looking forward to, whereas Dhoni is a captain, a wicket-keeper and a batsman who can change the match situation on his own. So I asked him if I could look for him,” he added.
Well, Dhoni was finally bought by CSK for the whopping US $1.5 million and went on to take the team to two IPL titles and four final appearances, thus making them one of the strongest team in the cash-rich domestic T20 tournament.
