Honor 9 Lite mid-range phone goes official with 18:9 display and Android Oreo

Honor 9 Lite was at the Chinese regulatory commission about a week ago, so today’s announcement might not be a total surprise for some of you who’ve read our previous report. However, we now have more information on the phone’s price and availability, in case you’re considering buying one.

As the title says, the Honor 9 Lite is one of the not so many mid-range Android smartphones that features an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The 5.65-inch screen with full HD+ resolution is probably one of the phone’s selling points.

Furthermore, Honor’s new handset comes with dual-camera setup, so you’ll find 13MP and 2MP cameras on the back side. Moreover, the same dual-camera configuration is available in the front as well, which should enable users to take even better selfies.

On the inside, Honor 9 Lite includes an octa-core Kirin 659 processor, paired with either 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, or 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. Also, the smartphone features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a decent 3,000 mAh battery.

Honor 9 Lite ships with Android 8.0 Oreo right out of the box and it will be available for purchase in China starting December 26 for $180 and $275, depending on the model. It should be released in Europe and other regions next year.
