Kuldeep Yadav showed why he is ready to shoulder the spin department with an absolute beauty to remove South Africa’s JP Duminy in the 1st ODI in Durban.
In the 26th over, he bowled a brilliant wrong one, which went on to crash into the stumps. Duminy had no idea whatsoever as Kuldeep claimed his first wicket of the match.
Duminy had come to the crease after the departure of Aiden Markram, who was caught brilliantly by Hardik Pandya off Yuzvendra Chahal’s bowling. Post Markram’s departure, Faf du Plessis and Duminy were in the process of rebuilding the innings when Kuldeep struck.
Soon after the dismissal, Kuldeep also dismissed left-handed batsman David Miller – who was caught by Virat Kohli at mid-off. The Indian skipper earlier survived an injury scare after his boots got stuck while chasing a ball, post which he was off the field to get some medical auction.

In the seventh over of the innings, Amla worked a ball from Bhuvneshwar towards through covers and as Kohli slided down to return the ball, his boots got stuck in the grass which hurt his knee.
Earlier, India got off to a good start at Durban when Jasprit Bumrah got visitors’ their first breakthrough by trapping Hashim Amla in front of the wicket. The replays suggested that Bumrah had almost bowled a front foot no ball.
South Africa are without the services of senior batsman AB de Villiers, who has been ruled out of the first three ODIs due to a finger injury he sustained during the 3rd Test against India. Men in Blue are eyeing a better show in limited overs after losing the Test series 2-1.
India and South Africa will play six ODIs and three T20 Internationals.
