World’s biggest Sport event Olympic is just about to ring the bell and India is fighting against its hard fortune as Five time World Boxing Champion Mary Kom has been denied for the wild card entry to the Rio.
Her hope for the berth for the Rio has finally ended after denial of Wild Card entry but she has not lose her hope yet and said I’m not hanging my gloves just yet.
Mary could not make her cut to Rio via two qualifiers and the last attempt by Indian Olympic Association to get her wild card entry also ditched her after IOC Declined the request.
“I have been duly informed that I won’t be getting a wildcard for the Olympics. It is heartbreaking but it is something which I had no control on. I have to accept this decision but I am not quitting the sport right now. I will continue to compete till I am feeling fit and for the time being I think I am fit.“Mary Kom told.
Mary kom is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the history of Indian Woman boxing Players. And Mary is not only in India but all over the world is seen as an idol for the woman boxers.
“There are no competitions apart from Olympics this year. So I have a lot of time at hand to think and reflect. I will see how things go. It will all depend on my fitness, I feel fit right now. If I continue to feel the same way, I would continue for some time,” she said.
“I am not feeling good about how things have panned out but I am sure future is good for me,” she added.
Mary was one of the biggest hopes for India’s Medal tally but unfortunately India will have to move without her, but we wish all the players who qualified for Rio from Indian side, to make country proud.
