New Gmail iOS app update adds iPhone X support, third-party email accounts

Slowly but surely, Google is updating all its iOS apps to
properly support Apple’s iPhone X and its unusual 5.8inch Super Retina screen.
The very latest Google-made app that’s gained iPhone X support – thanks to an
update released today, December 4 – is Gmail.

Weirdly, there’s no mention of iPhone X support in the “What’s
New” notes of the updated Gmail app (version 5.0.171119). Nevertheless, if
you’re updating the application on an iPhone X, you’ll notice that Gmail now makes
use of the handset’s full display, including the right and left sides of its
notch.

Alongside iPhone X support, the new Gmail update adds the
ability to use non-Google (third-party) email accounts – this is something
that’s been available on Gmail for Android for years now.

In case you haven’t updated the app yet, the latest Gmail for iOS can be downloaded on your Apple device from iTunes, via the source link below.
