If the verdict of the national anthem to be played in movie theatres, saying ‘Jai Hind’ on the roll calls in schools in MP, and Jaipur Municipal Corporation making it mandatory for its staff to sing the national anthem and national song in morning and evening was not enough, Vasundra Raje-led Rajasthan government has found a new way to instill ‘nationalist feelings’ among the youths.
The state government has made national anthem mandatory for all government hostels under Social Justice and Empowerment Department of the state. The department runs these hostels for people who belong to OBC, SC and ST sections of the society.
After the new mandate by Raje government, the national anthem will be played in these hostels every day at 7 am. An order issued mandates all 789 government hostels to have its residents assemble in the morning and sing the national anthem. The order was issued yesterday (November 27).
Department for Social Justice and Empowerment Principal Secretary Dr Samith Sharma, however, defended the decision and said that singing national anthem was nothing new and it’s just that it was not being followed since last few years. Now the government has made it compulsory
