ZTE’s announcement is a nice surprise for those who spent a small fortune to purchase the company’s flagship. Now, as far as the exact release date of the promised Android 8.0 Oreo update, ZTE Germany made some comments on the matter.
Apparently, Android 8.0 Oreo for ZTE Axon 7 won’t be available until April 2018. ZTE Germany also mentioned the update will include the so-called “Stock+ UI,” which means the Chinese handset maker might be willing to drop any bloatware that was part of the company previous UIs.
Ironically, by the time ZTE Axon 7 will receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update, the smartphone will be two years old, thus surpassing the time limit for major Android updates.
